LMI relies heavily on volunteers to assist our ministry team and to help with mission administration. At the moment LMI needs more volunteers to work alongside our staff. You would be surprised at how much can be achieved in just one day of voluntary service!
LMI’s volunteers are dedicated Christians who have made themselves available to God so that He can use them. Right now we are looking for people who will volunteer to use their expertise and skills to help with the following areas of our ministry:
If you are unable to help one day a week but would like to make yourself available for one or two mornings a week, we would be delighted to hear from you. Volunteering with LMI is flexible and training is provided. Travel expenses are also offered to people living outside the Belfast area.
Much of our Bible Teaching Ministry development work can be done from a volunteer’s home. Also power-point presentations and DVD production can be completed outside of LMI’s office. For more information on the types of opportunities for home-based volunteers, please contact us.
Ken Blackwell has been volunteering his time with LMI since 2010. He is a retired teacher and minister and lives in Garstang, Preston. As a BTM developer he creates question and answer assignments for our Leadership Study Programme and is also producing lessons for LMI's Christian Education Programme. Ken has done all this work from home and he testifies below about his experience as a home-based volunteer.
In 2010, I came across the LMI exhibition stand at the Keswick Convention in the Earthworks tent. As a retired teacher and pastor, I felt I could make a contribution. Now I regularly produce lessons and prepare questions for textbooks to assist the Bible Teaching Ministry. Is it worthwhile? Yes! It is very satisfying to have a part in the equipping of Christian leaders abroad. Investing a little time at the computer each week is an investment in the Kingdom of God. Life is short and it is good to live it to the full for the Lord!
