Ministry Matters Issue 1 2011
With one third of the world’s population still without access to the Gospel (source: Joshua Project), the need for Christians committed to making Jesus known is still great. This is why LMI is passionate about helping Christians realise that all of God’s people need to be motivated about reaching the lost with the Gospel of Christ. Not only is the ministry engaged in mission awareness in the UK, but also since last year LMI’s coordinators in the Philippines and Hungary have been carrying out the same work in their respective countries. The first MAP event in the Philippines took place in October 2010, and was organised and conducted by Rev Jonathan Winter and his Filipino co-worker, Pastor Jun Nunez. Jonathan said that there was a great response to the event with many of those in attendance being challenged and motivated to be more actively involved in mission. In January 2011 Jonathan and Pastor Jun conducted three more events in the Philippines sponsored by LMI’s Mission Awareness Programme fund.
